Economists warn of another rate rise in 2023
Economists are warning the Reserve Bank could raise interest rates one more time in 2023 after an August inflation spike.
The monthly indicator measured by the Bureau of Statistics rose slightly from 4.9 per cent to 5.2 per cent.
It is the first piece of inflation growth in three months as petrol, diesel and power price increases were all considered as contributing to the rise.
RBA Governor Michele Bullock and the board will make their first rates decision under her leadership on Tuesday.
According to experts, whatever the next rates decision is, the Reserve Bank's end-of-year inflation target seems out of reach.
