Axl Rose Punches Paparazzo at LAX Original video by Matingas

This is the original video of Axl Rose punching my then-boss (of National Photo Group) in the face. Recorded on December 9, 2009, 9:44 pm.

This is the story of how it happened. I was the only paparazzo there. My boss went just as a fan. I had been working for the agency just a couple of weeks, my boss told me "it's just Axl Rose, you don't have to cover it if you don't want to." Pictures of Axl rose at LAX aren't worth very much... but I decided to stay just to show my boss that I wanted to work.

My boss was there as a fan and wanting to collect his autograph. There were dozens (probably around 30) of autograph collectors at LAX waiting for Axl. I was the only one with a camera. My boss had his camera (long lens) in the bag, but other Guns N' Roses memorabilia he wanted Axl to sign. I had both my cameras with me.

LAX security was messing with the autograph collectors faking people out in which Escalade or limousine Axl would come out. When he finally did, everyone found out and chased him around the airport. It was a mess. And Axl was as well. He stumbled around the airport and kept going the wrong direction. You could smell him from far away.

I knew something was going to happen, so I gave my Flip "pocket" camera (that I had for emergencies) to one of the autograph collectors that I knew. I told him "it's recording already, just point." You can see me in the video. I'm the one taking pictures (flashing) and my boss is taking pictures from far away.

Axl got angry at him because he seemingly was too close to his "mom" who is his manager. It was his "mom" who went towards my boss to push him. That's when Axl saw him and you could see what happened.

After that. We left. Police were involved and asked us if we wanted to press charges. My boss, a fan of Guns N' Roses (and already a rich guy), said he did not want to get involved at all. We went to Bar Melody to have Jack and Cokes after that while we waited for the Jonas brothers to arrive at midnight. It was just Kevin Jonas.
