Battlefield 2042 has been met harsh reviews and criticism amongst it's fanbase + community, with many being disappointed with it's launch and direction and saying it's not worth it. This is due to a number of reasons, from the lack of traditional classes, to core features (scoreboard, server browser) missing, and overall lack of content.

New updates, improvements, changes and content in the future could potentially make Battlefield 2042 a drastically better game, making it worth buying and playing for many years to come. But certain things will probably need to change soon if the game has any chance of succeeding, helping to improve it's reputation in the community.
