This video departs from the normal offering of painting conservation and takes a look at the build process for one of the most important pieces of equipment in the modern conservation studio.
The heated suction table is an invaluable piece of kit that allows the even and precise application of heat and pressure to a painting that can be used in many different treatments.
After moving to a new studio and the failure of his nearly 40-year old table, armed with an intimate understanding of the workings of the old table after reverse engineering it for repair, Julian embarked upon building a new larger table. At 10' x 7' this massive table will allow the treatments of large-scale works that was impossible before.
More details including an electrical wiring diagram and parts list can be found here: https://baumgartnerfineartrestoration.com/table.shtml
Specific questions about the build should be directed here: info@bfar.com
