HORNETS are in your Attic! | INFESTATION |

Hornets being in your attic can be CREEPY! Luckily, I am here to remove these MASSIVE creatures for folks! This is a dangerous job, but Im up to the challenge!

This Species is European Hornet (Vespa crabro) and they are the only true hornet we have established here in the states. This is a cavity nest building species that builds its nests in sheltered locations, ie hollow tree trunks, buildings, and even houses! Being their large size, their sting is quite painful, and of the times I was stung, its was intense! They are of one of the species of wasp (Yes, hornets are a type of wasp) that shoots venom from their stinger (ovipositor) mid flight! They target threats to their colony by shooting venom at the unsuspecting persons eyes! And it buuuuurns! If the venom makes it into my eyes, just rinsing the venom out with NSS (Normal saline solution) takes care of the discomfort in about 15 minutes.

As with most of my nests, once removed and brought home, I take the comb layers apart and expose the hiding adults wasps inside, vacuum them up, so the comb are safe for my chickens, turkey, and squirrel to remove and consume the larvae inside.
