How to Set Up a Flat Float Rig

Set Up a Flat Float Rig. In this video I show you how to set up a Flat Float Rig for Pole Fishing on a deep and flowing river.

The flat float is perfect for this as it presents only a very slim profile to the current which means it slices through the water much better than a bulbous float.

The rig itself is actually very simple. The bulk shot which is set to be just off the bottom, can be made up of an Olivette, Split Shot, or a combination of the two. Then there are two sets of dropper shot which keeps the bait on the bottom when you hold the rig back.

A swivel or connector can be used to replace the bottom set of dropper shot if required. This enable quick changes of hooklengths to accommodate different baits.
