Kate Hills Make it British on Radio 4 on the rise of UK textile manufacturing
This week I was invited onto the Radio 4 You & Yours programme to talk about the rise in UK textile manufacturing.
Which by the way has gone from £9bn to £11bn in just two years!
What should have been a feel-good piece about how more brands are sourcing locally, soon turned into a heated debate as BooHoo raised its ugly head again!
I do wish that for once we could have a conversation in the media about UK garment production and not mention bloody BooHoo.
There are so many wonderful garment manufacturers in Leicester and the whole of the UK, so why do the press focus on just this small percentage?
Anyhoo...
The feature did also include Make it British member Brand Richards, co-founder of HebTroCo, who always brings humour to the proceedings.
Listen to the full episode and let me know your thoughts about how you think this particular interview went in the comments below.
