A Larger and Lovelier Press Lock Purse Sewing Tutorial by Sewspire

Hey y'all and welcome to Sewspire!

Today I am here to show you how to sew a lovely large purse with press lock closure. I especially love the combination of the twill and quilted roses on this particular bag. You can easily customize the pockets to suit your needs perfectly and this bag would be adorable with a short shoulder strap---thereby leaving you lots of possibilities to personalize it!

To craft as shown, you will need to precut the following pattern pieces:

Cut two 15" x 15" exterior body panels from twill

Cut two 15" x 15" interior body panels from cotton and back them with quilt batting

Cut four 15" x 9" pocket panels from cotton and back two of them with quilt batting and quilt as desired

Cut two 6" x 8" flap panels from cotton and back one with quilt batting and quilt as desired

Cut one 3" x 12" key fob from cotton 

Plus one 1/2" key fob

Plus 48" of 1.75" webbing 

Plus one press lock

I ordered my webbing on Etsy from this fabulous shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/AGraffSupplies and notice she is no longer stocking that width so feel free to substitute as needed.

Your finished bag will measure approximately 9" across the base, 13" across the top and 4" deep.
