Department store chain Robinsons exits Singapore retail scene after 162 years

Department store chain Robinsons is exiting the Singapore retail scene after 162 years. It will be closing its last two stores at The Heeren and Raffles City Shopping Centre for good due to weak demand. The department store chain is owned by the Al-Futtaim Group. The first Robinsons store was founded in 1858 in Singapore. Over 170 staff will be affected.
