Good news! You don’t have to travel far to have an adventure. So often people feel that you have to travel hundreds, even thousands of kilometres to find adventure and something special whereas the honest truth is that most often the most amazing adventures are right on your door step… well 7km from Marek’s doorstep to be exact and we could not believe our eyes!!

Mermaids pool (East London) is an amazing reef that has a beautiful and wide range of aquatic life ranging from enormous crayfish to puffer fish that are the size of your pinkie finger. Mermaids pool allows you easy access to the reef as you can literally walk into the reef from the beach. Be sure to pack in sunblock as Mermaids pool has plenty of hidden treasures to explore and a picturesque beach that will keep you there all day.

We do not have a list of activities for this video other than beach activities. But we can suggest the BEST place to go for a milkshake and a pie after a long day at the beach… Friesland Dairy Bar.
Type that exact name into Google Maps and you will understand what we are talking about!

Here are a couple of tips for visiting Mermaids Pool:
- The best time of day to go snorkelling is during low tide. It is also advisable to go on a day when there is not too much wind and the sea is calm. Here is the website that we use to check the weather conditions https://www.windguru.cz/206972
- Take snorkelling gear along with you but if you don’t have access to that, normal swimming goggles will work just fine. We have experience with this as we left our snorkelling gear behind during a previous trip :D
