I Vibe Coded a Streak Tracker App with Claude Code (React Native)

In this video I vibe code a habit streak tracker from scratch using Claude Code CLI — building a real, working iOS app in React Native. No boilerplate, no templates. Just an idea and an AI pair programmer, building it layer by layer until it runs on a phone simulator.

The app is simple: pick a habit, tap once a day to check in, and watch your streak grow. The longer the chain, the bigger the flame 🔥 — miss a day and it resets. We'll add a calendar grid that lights up as you go, persistent storage so your progress survives closing the app, and the little animations and haptics that make it feel alive.

We build it in 5 layers:

The look — streak number, check-in button, and the calendar on screen
The tap — making the button fill in today
The streak — counting days in a row
The memory — saving progress so it persists
The polish — animations and haptic feedback
