Webinar: Israel's New Travel Restrictions and How They Will Impact Palestinian Americans and Others

A discussion about the new COGAT procedures and their impact which was held on on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 6pm. Hosted by ADC, this event featured a discussion of the formalized restrictions while answering questions about how to interact with them.

In February 2022, Israel’s Coordinating Office for Government Affairs in the Territories (COGAT), the Israeli Defense Ministry’s military administration responsible for issuing orders and policies concerning entry of foreign nationals to the occupied Palestinian territories, published a 97-page ordinance entitled Procedure for Entry and Residence for Foreigners in Judea and Samaria Area. The ordinance further complicates and formalizes previous written and unwritten entry restrictions and requirements for foreigners wishing to visit, do business, reunite and reside with their Palestinian families, work or volunteer in those parts of the occupied West Bank under Palestinian Authority (PA) civil and security administration and East Jerusalem, or study or teach at Palestinian academic institutions.
