Florida to New York: Rescued beagles take to the skies on their way to forever homes

15 beagles rescued from a Wisconsin breeding and research facility took another step toward a forever home with a rescue flight bound for New York.

Pilots coordinated the transport mission in coordination with Pilots To The Rescue. This nonprofit flies at-risk animals from overcrowded shelters and rescue groups to areas where they have a better chance of adoption.

The dogs originated from Ridglan Farms, a Wisconsin facility that has been at the center of a large-scale effort to relocate thousands of beagles into homes and rescue organizations across the country.

Friday's flight was conducted in partnership with Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Loxahatchee Groves and Second Chance Rescue NYC. Once in New York, the beagles will receive care and be matched with adoptive families.
