What does a sustainable community look like to you? | Dan McCarthy, Episcopal Housing Corporation
When we asked Dan McCarthy, the Executive Director of the Episcopal Housing Corporation, what a sustainable community looked like to him, he emphasized how supportive resources help communities thrive.
All Baltimoreans deserve a safe place to call home, but we also deserve access to sustainable employment, food resources, enrichment programs, and quality health care. MOHS participates in cross-sector collaboration to bring these resources to our neighbors experiencing and exiting a housing crisis.
We are grateful for organizations like Episcopal Housing Corporation, the co-owner of Sojourner Place, for working with local organizations such as Health Care for the Homeless to create sustainable communities.
Sojourner Place is an apartment community that features supportive programming for individuals and families exiting homelessness, as well as households with incomes of 50% or less than the Area Median Income. This is how we support our neighbors and build long-lasting communities through stable housing.
