Live: Critically endangered spoon-billed sandpipers in E China's Jiangsu – Ep. 3

A spoon-billed sandpiper has a distinctive black spatula bill that it uses to catch larvae and invertebrates underwater. The species was listed as endangered in 2004 and upgraded to critically endangered on the IUCN Red List four years later. The Yellow Sea region holds the primary stopover sites for many shorebirds during their migration to and from the northern breeding grounds, including the spoon-billed sandpiper. Every year, they make a crucial three-month stopover at the Tiaozini mudflats in Jiangsu Province on China's eastern coast. Join CGTN for more! #ForNature #COP15
