EU Pledges Billions of Euros To 'Reformed' Terrorists in Syria w/ Eva Bartlett

On March 17, 2025, donors at a European Union-led conference pledged 5.8 billion euros to support the new regime in Damascus, Syria.

The annual EU-led conference began in 2017, but took place without any representative of the Syrian government. This time, however, Syria’s so-called “Foreign Minister”, Asaad Hassan al-Shibani, attended the conference along with dozens of European and Arab ministers.

On March 24, Dimitri Lascaris spoke with Eva Bartlett about the EU's disregard for the atrocities being committed by the new regime in Damascus.

Eva is a Canadian independent journalist. She has spent years on the ground covering conflict zones in the Middle East, especially in Syria and Palestine (where she lived for nearly four years). She was the recipient of the 2017 International Journalism Award for International Reporting, granted by the Mexican Journalists’ Press Club, and was the first recipient of the Serena Shim Award for Uncompromised Integrity in Journalism.

Lascaris and Bartlett also discussed Trump's faltering peace initiative in Ukraine, and recent efforts of Canada's spy agency to silence journalists who are critical of Canadian foreign policy.
