Set in Los Angeles, Parientes a la Fuerza centers on George Cruz, a famous screenwriter whose life seems to be falling apart. He loses his mother, his wife abandons him, and he suffers from writer's block as he struggles to create another hit. Amidst this crisis, George travels to Mexico to fulfill his mother's final wishes and has a chance encounter with Carmen Jurado, a young Mexican woman who will become his muse and great love. Their ensuing romance will change not only their lives but that of those close to them. Carmen moves with her entire family to George's Beverly Hills mansion, where she is challenged by the cultural differences of a new country and by her new boyfriend's family. This love story promises a lot of drama and many humorous moments as the very different worlds of Carmen and George collide with one another.
