Dell Alienware 13 R3 Review – A Portable Powerhouse?

With the recent power efficiency improvements to GPUs, laptops are looking like more and more tempting solutions to gamers, with performance that is just a hair away from that of a desktop in a chassis you can slip into a backpack. But is there any disadvantage with putting so much power in such a small space? Let's take a look.

Note: The Deus Ex Mankind Divided benchmark shown at 5:00 is not running live on the device. The game had been running fine for ages, but when I was actually shooting the B roll it started crashing and I haven't been able to get it running since (Edit 13/02/17: After a few emails with Square Enix Support I was able to get the game running fine again - turns out it was a clash with Alienware Sound Center for whatever reason. Not a major problem, but worth a check if anyone encounters something similar with this machine.)
