Jawa 42 is a cruiser bike available in 9 variants and 13 colours. The Jawa 42 is powered by 294.72cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 26.94 bhp and a torque of 26.84 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Jawa 42 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This 42 bike weighs 184 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 13.2 liters.

The Jawa 42 is a modern retro motorcycle and it has received a lot of updates for 2024. The bike’s design, to begin with, draws inspiration from yesteryear Jawas. The bike has a round headlight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a curved rear fender. Jawa has been particular about keeping the retro aspect intact by offering a traditional halogen headlight.

The bike is available in two variants and the lower-spec Jawa 42 gets an analogue display with an inset digital readout. The top-spec bike gets a fully digital dashboard.

Powering the Jawa 42 is a 294.7cc, liquid-cooled engine that has received some internal tweaks. It is called the J-Panther and it makes 27bhp and 26.84Nm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox, which also gets an assist and slip clutch.

Jawa has worked on improving engine refinement and NVH levels. The bike also gets a new, smaller radiator, which is much more efficient at heat management than the radiator in the outgoing bike.

Under the bodywork, there’s a double cradle frame that’s suspended by a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. While the suspension hardware is the same, the compression and rebound damping have been revised. The bike rides on alloy wheels but one can also opt for wire spoke rims by choosing the lower-spec bike.

The Jawa 42 is available in 14 colour options out of which six are new. They are Vega White, Voyager Red, Asteroid Grey, Odyssey Black, Nebula Blue, and Celestial Copper Matte.
