Step by step electronics comparator circuit to turn LED on off using LM393N LM393 DIP 8 IC

Comparator I bought for use with a lower voltage direct current single supply power source. Looks like it is intended to control the low voltage side of the circuit (ground) and the opposite side of the load being controlled needs to ome from the positive side of the power supply.
http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm393-n.pdf is one of the datasheets I use to learn about the LM393N LM393 component.
I do a step by step build of a comparator circuit to turn an LED on or off based on adjusting the trimpot voltage at the noninverting pin and comparing that to a fixed voltage at the inverting pin, to determin the output voltage of either high or low.
