2017 VW Golf R - How to recover dropped items behind centre console #Volkswagen #Mk7

Step by step guide:

- Move front seats fully forward to give space.
- Remove front storage compartment in front of cup holder / near shifter.
- Remove the shift boot by unclipping it and pulling it up over the lever.
- Unclip the left & right console covers / side trims (these run along the sides of the console, near the seat and floor).
- Remove bolts holding the console.
- Unclip front of console insert (the part that includes the cup holders) upwards, then pull forward a bit.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors under the console insert (e.g. for lighting, USB, wireless charging).
- Finally, lift the console piece carefully over the gear lever / handbrake as needed.
