Death of Princess Margaret

Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, younger sister of Her Majesty the Queen, died in the early morning of 9 February 2002.

Here is the coverage from Weekend 24, as shown on BBC Two. As the recording starts, we are in the middle of a prepared obituary made by Nicholas Witchell (which is reshown later). The studio presenters are Bill Turnbull and Sian Williams, with assistance from Royal correspondent Jennie Bond.
