Heykelsey Covers: Boats and Birds by Gregory And The Hawk (RE DO!)

ten years ago i pulled out my first guitar, a sunburst blue ibanez, and played one of my favorite songs on my front lawn.. something amazing happened, and the next thing I knew views were piling in (anyone remember MEEKAKITTY's video "I would go gay for heykelsey"? that single plug is responsible for most of those views 😂) I never had any idea that a video of mine would ever receive so much attention!

many years later and I have lost a large part of that brushfire following.. those that remain i love dearly, both new and old, for you have either found me via your own search or have stayed with me as I've gone from awkward teenager to young woman, cheering me on the whole way. you know that I have never done this for the numbers. In fact, I don't get paid for any content- there's no outside influence or help in what I do. I just find a place to sit, give my Taylor a hug, and let loose with what's been botherin' me. here we are. i have no words for you to relate what I am feeling except "thank you" for your constant outpouring of kind words and encouragement. this is a long overdue, warmed up and homegrown remake of the infamous Boats and Birds. i hope it recaptures you in a familiar way, like an old friend you didn't know you missed or a warm hug from a high school love. we are all in this together.
