The medimodels corn and callus debridement training model is specifically designed to build confidence with scalpel skills in podiatry training. It has a simulated foot with realistic internal bone structure on a folding leg. The leg can be desk mounted or strapped to a chair, to simulate a live training scenario.
Each foot sole pad has 4 calluses and 3 corns. Once these have all been debrided, a replacement sole can be applied to the simulated foot. The feel of the calluses under the scalpel has a high degree of functional fidelity.
A specially formulated wax conglomerate material gives an authentic user experience to allow students to become familiar with the process before they progress to live patients.
