Market Open FTSE100 Thursday 11 June 2026

The FTSE 100 rose 1.19 per cent to 10,316.29 at the open, outperforming European peers as the CAC 40 fell 0.51 per cent and the DAX declined 0.97 per cent amid ongoing focus on Middle East developments and the upcoming European Central Bank decision. US markets were stronger overnight, with the Nasdaq gaining 1.81 per cent and the S&P 500 rising 0.84 per cent. In company news, Wizz Air reported weaker earnings after a £43 million hit related to disruption from the Iran conflict, while Concurrent Technologies secured a record £17 million order that enhances long-term revenue visibility. Against sterling, the US dollar, Japanese yen and Australian dollar strengthened, while the euro and Swiss franc weakened, and Bitcoin climbed 1.89 per cent. In commodities, copper rose 0.64 per cent, gold gained 0.93 per cent, Brent crude traded at 91.697, and natural gas fell 1.34 per cent.
