Murchison by Anton Immler

WARNING YOU MUST HAVE SOMEONE ON YOUR CREW THAT HAS EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THIS RUN OR YOU WILL NOT BE SUCCESSFUL! The Murchison section of the White Nile is one of the most intense, scary and out there full on expeditions you can do. You will find some of the biggest rapids you have ever seen in here. A big part of the river is a delta and there are thousands of islands that create numerous channels and rapids. It is very easy to get lost and a lot of the channels are not runnable. The run can easily be split into three different parts. The Karuma to Chobe section, The Chobe to Ayago section and the Ayago to Murchison section. There is road access points at Karuma, Chobe, Ayago and Murchison if needed. The Karuma to Chobe section is the shortest one at 12km and is mostly big but short rapids split between 5-12 channels in each rapid. The Chobe to Ayago section has a lot of class 1-2 in the beginning with a class 5 called "hippo walk" and ending with a long class 3-4 section called "Round 2". The last rapid called "The Puzzle" is a mile long class 5. Total length is 36km. The Ayago to Murchison section is the longest at 37km and also the hardest one. You have numerous class 5 rapids in there like Tarzans garden, Supernova, Legavand, Vidiot, Matrix wave and the S-Bend. Also after Tarzans garden there is a class 6 called "Go Right" with a 2km long class 4 lead in rapid.
