Service Transition - Third Stage of the ITIL Service Lifecycle

The third stage calls for the assurance of the services we designed in the Service Design stage to be deployed into the live business production environment. The word transition comes from the change of the stage where the design transitions into implementation. This would require the IT service provider to make sure the processes are followed to make the transition as smooth as possible. For that, the deployment of Releases for new and changed services will have to be planned and implemented, and they will also have to be tested to make sure there are minimum risks involved. Another important factor that requires consideration is that the ongoing services must not be impacted while transitioning the design to operation.
The later part of the video talks about the common processes associated with the Service Transition stage. These processes will serve as the pillars to successful execution of the third stage.
