My dev career is about to be over

Sean Goedecke wrote a post arguing software engineering might not be a lifetime career anymore.
His comparison: we're like pro athletes now, with a 15-year window before the job moves past us.

I read it twice. I think he's partly right, and that's what bothers me.

In this video I go through the post, the pushback from Simon Willison on Hacker News,
and the response from the daily.dev community (where the top comment makes a sharper point than the original article).

No doom, no hype. Just where I actually think this leaves us.
