With the $2.3 trillion stimulus package ($900 billion for us, and $1.4 trillion for the government) signed into law, I’m sure all of you out there are wondering when you will see these vital disaster relief funds hitting your bank accounts.

Fortunately, it looks like stimulus checks will likely hit the streets sooner than the previous $1,200 direct payments, due to systems already being put in place.

According to the IRS, stimulus payments must be handed out by January 15th, but financial experts predict that we’ll see our disaster relief funds before that date.

Chad Hooper, national president of the Professional Managers Association (PMA), which represents managers at the IRS, explained that they: "could get out all of the payments more rapidly.

I sure hope that we’ll see our new stimulus checks quicker than we did with the first round of direct payments, which took some Americans over 6 months to claim their disaster relief funds.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives are set to discuss an important stimulus item later today, with a vote likely occurring in the coming days.

In this new proposal, the House hopes to change the amount of stimulus checks offered to eligible Americans from $600 to $2,000.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer explained in a recent tweet: “The House will pass a bill to give Americans $2,000 checks. Then I will move to pass it in the Senate. No Democrats will object. Will Senate Republicans?”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi echoed Schumer’s comments about changing stimulus checks to $2,000, stating: “every Republican vote against this bill is a vote to deny the financial hardship that families face and to deny the American people the relief they need.”

With a vote coming as soon as tomorrow, I sure hope that Congress can pass this $2,000 stimulus check proposal, as the extra funds would help millions of Americans with some much needed disaster relief funds as we head into the new year.

Finally, President Trump signed the $2.3 trillion stimulus package into law last night, putting an end to our suffering, avoiding a government shutdown, and providing necessary disaster relief funds to millions of Americans in need of fiscal support.

Trump also explained in a statement yesterday that he would: “start the process for a vote that increases checks to $2,000.”

At this point in time, the new $900 billion stimulus package contains another round of stimulus checks for $600 including children dependents, additional extended enhanced unemployment benefits, $284 billion for PPP loans, as well as funding for vaccines, testing, rental assistance, schools, and much more.

Nancy Pelosi stated last night that this is just the start of disaster relief efforts, explaining: “This relief legislation is a down payment on what is needed to crush the virus, put money in the pockets of the American people and honor our heroes — our health-care workers, first responders, transit and sanitation workers and teachers.”

I’m so happy to finally see the long awaited Phase 4 disaster relief bill signed into law, and I hope that we all start to see these much needed stimulus funds in out bank accounts in the coming days.
