Amid trade talks, Beijing counters Trump charge that China wants him to lose
A fresh war of words has broken out between United States of America and China even as the two nations resume trade talks. While representatives of the two countries met in Shanghai, US President Donald Trump said that China wants to wait for him to lose in the next election, before striking a trade deal. Beijing hit back, saying that Washington was trying to exert pressure. Negotiations to resolve the ongoing trade war have resumed after a gap of almost three months. The year-long tariff battle has roiled world markets.
