Iran threats: Is Trump deliberately manipulating the markets?

Simon Marks speaks with stock trader Peter Tuchman about how Trump's latest threats of escalation against Iran will further affect the already 'volatile' global market.

Tuchman, also known as the 'Wall Street Einstein', tells Simon that the President's 'masterstroke' is 'creating catastrophes without solving them'.

On Easter Sunday, Trump issued an expletive truth social post, promising 'hell' if Iran did not re-open the Strait of Hormuz.

About 20% of the world's oil and gas passes through the blockaded waterway. Due to this, global oil prices have increased by almost 70% since the start of the conflict in February 2026.

Despite not wanting to be a 'conspiracy theorist', Tuchman touches on the idea there has been some 'market manipulation' in Trump's repeated issuing and withdrawal of threats.
