Giving a BigTrak to a Generation Z - let the fun commence

What happens if you give a bit of 80's Tech in the shape of the "BigTrak" - the programmable electric vehicle created by Milton Bradley in 1979 to a Generation Z? Given that all modern Game Tech comes with an ultra mmodern App, it was fascinating (and slightly frustrating!) to see how my Millennial Son would cope with it.

Some of the problems that occurred to Adam were:

1) When you turn it on - there are no immediate flashing lights!
2) There is no "Game Save" option, so Adam ended up writing down his instructions!
3) The distances and turning angles are not the most accurate
4) It can only remember 16 commands.
5) It is slow compared to, say, a drone.

Still, he (or rather I) eventually programmed the BigTrak to complete an obstacle course that included turns, ramps, tight turns and sort of tunnel and more turns.

Adam won't be playing with the BigTrak in the future...apparently!

Interestingly, a company called Zeon Ltd has released a new version of the BigTrak and there have been promising to release the BigTrak XTR since 2014. http://www.bigtrakxtr.co.uk/bigtrak-xtr
