Life Before the Chernobyl Disaster

Author and historian Adam Higginbotham comes into the studio to discuss his book "Midnight in Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World's Greatest Nuclear Disaster" and all-things Chernobyl. While we all know bits and pieces about what happen in Chernobyl and the Chernobyl workers in 1986, most of us don't consider what is really is: a human disaster. Adam describes the research he performed for his Chernobyl book, searching for accounts of people who represented both the town and the workers, and the cross-section between them. What Adam also hoped to achieve was depicting Chernobyl as a city built for the Chernobyl workers, all of whom were predominately happy. To this end, "Midnight in Chernobyl" is unique in that it explores the life of Chernobyl before and after the plant incident.
