Kiki Iriafen ready to be a leader on the court for the Mystics

Washington isn’t starting from scratch. Last season offered a glimpse of what’s building, especially through the emergence of rookies Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron. They quickly developed into one of the most dynamic rookie duos in the league.

"It starts with not being complacent. I had a great first year, but it's year two," Iriafen said. "My coaches have pushed me to be a better leader and be a more vocal leader which is something that I really didn't have to do last season. On the court, you can always be growing on something."

"Just really trying to set the standard for what Mystics' basketball is," Citron said. "Not act like we know it all, but act like we were here last year, so we have a little more experience and just try to help everybody."
