How to Construct a Lantern Roof

This is another episode following the progress of our two storey extension build. During this video of How to Construct a Lantern Roof we take you through the process step by step. Pete is initially setting out joists for a lantern roof and is then aided by Tony in fixing the perimeter noggins. Tony then explains about the roof lantern upstand and fitting that. Pete then runs you through how he went about creating a fall on a flat roof by cutting tapered furring strips. He explains about the use of 18mm hardwood ply and fitting it correctly using compound miter joints where necessary. Then Pete and Will set to completing the job.
