Asteroid Almost Hits India, Nobody Noticed!

2020 QG was discovered on Aug 16, 2020. It has a diameter of 10 to 20 feet which is roughly the size of a large car. On August 16, 2020, 2020 QG passed over the southern Indian Ocean. About 1,830 miles from the Earth's surface making it the closest asteroid approach to Earth.

It was spotted by the Zwicky Transient Facility moving at the speed of 12 km per second. Scientists have also predicted that 2020 QG is too small to cause any harm. Even if it enters the Earth's atmosphere it would quickly burn and break apart and never reach the Earth's surface.
