Color Sorting Line with TCS3472

Color Sorting Line made with fischertechnik and three 'Zauberling' modules.

The color sensor is connected via the I2C bus to a 'Zauberling'-module that just decodes the color and holds the last color output signal. Each of these four color-signals, monitored with each corresponding color LED indicator, is connected to a port of a 2-input AND-gate. The other port of each AND-gate connects to a light barrier with a semiconductor laser and an LDR positioned along the track. In this way each AND-gate drives a pneumatic valve that triggers the corresponding slider. Timing issues may be fixed with an optional delay configurable with a potentiometer on the 'Zauberling'.

All electronics in this video are open source and non-commercial. The 'Zauberling'-module is a programmable, DIP-switch configurable DIY Arduino Pro Mini Atmega328P module with four inputs and motor driver outputs. The case is 3D printed and has the same dimensions as the traditional fischertechnik 'Silberlingen' with which it is electronically and digitally backwards compatible.
