Nick Saban shares what drives him after so much success at Alabama I All Things Covered

The phrase 'GOAT' gets tossed around a lot these days. Quite frankly, it's used way too much. But it's not hyperbole when we use the term to describe our guest on this episode. 7-time national champion Nick Saban joins All Things Covered to discuss his NFL tenure, his future at Alabama and why he barely celebrates after winning title after title. Saban opens by talking a little about his golf game before remembering Pat's infamous non-interception vs. the Crimson Tide in 2009. All these years later, was he in bounds? That play was just a part of the great battles with Julio Jones, which offers another trip down memory lane. Saban has dominated for nearly a decade and a half at Bama, but we revisit his time in the NFL with the Dolphins. Why did the Drew Brees deal fall apart and how did that influence the decision to return to the college coaching ranks? Saban offers great insight on that situation/debacle...Quarterbacks haven't been an issue in Tuscaloosa and that's partially because of the talent around them and what they are asked to do. Saban shares their philosophy at the position before commenting on his coaching future. He may be 69 years old, but that hasn't stopped his passion and desire to win. All things continue to be covered such as the possibility of a conference-only schedule, how quickly he thinks about the following season after winning titles and the possibility of the College Football Playoff expanding to 8 teams. Don't miss out on a truly legendary episode!

ABOUT THE SHOW: Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden have made a living for their coverage skills on the football field, and while it's a different technique, they're now applying those traits on their new podcast 'All Things Covered'. Instead of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, they'll be covering sports, entertainment, social issues, personal interests and more. Every Tuesday, the 8-time Pro Bowler Peterson and 2-time Super Bowl champion McFadden will discuss what's happening on the gridiron as well as what intrigues them off the field. Each week they'll welcome a star from the sports and entertainment world to have wide-ranging conversations about what interests them. Guests can include active or former football players but also athletes and influencers from other sports and walks of life. Football is how we know our hosts, but far from what defines Pat and BMac. The name says everything; expect all things to be covered!
