This engine has a muted sporty tone thanks to its 5 cylinder configuration and it produces plenty of turbo-charged torque which gives the S60 superb, mid-range punch. Being a petrol model, this car is also ULEZ compliant. On a 500 mile test drive I managed an average of 32mpg which is respectable for a car of this class.

One of the main appeals of this car has to be its sumptuous, 2-tone leather interior which looks fantastic and is supremely comfortable. I spent a lot of time in this car having purchased in it Scotland and driving it back home to South Wales - I got to really appreciate the Volvos superb seats which are electrically adjustable and also heated for additional comfort. The S60 is a car that sites slightly above a BMW 3 series and Audi A4 in terms of its size, but is smaller than an E-Class or 5 series. There is also a generous sized boot of 395 litres and the ability to fold down the rear seats to extend that luggage space. The dashboard on this model is a very modern design with a balanced and minimalistic feel. Along with climate control this car has cruise control which, along with the tall 5th gear, makes for relaxed motorway journeys. There are rear park-distance sensors to aide tight maneuvers and I found the built in CD stereo to have a fantastic sound..
