TCP/IP Model: The Lesser Layers for CCNA / (Vol 1 Ch 1 Sec 1b)

All networking today uses TCP/IP. But it’s a vast topic. The TCP/IP model gives us all a way to structure how we think about TCP/IP. To be an effective networker, you must understand TCP/IP, the TCP/IP model, and many component protocols and standards.
Interestingly, Cisco’s CCNA exam blueprint emphasizes the network and data-link layers far more than the others. At the end of the video, I’ll comment about the why and wherefore in the CCNA Study Group section. But when creating the videos, I split the content for length, placing the TCP/IP basics for the two greater TCP/IP layers – network and data-link – in one video and the remaining three in this video.
Note that these other three layers – physical, application, and transport – are not lesser in a real sense, just fewer points in the CCNA exam. And you need to know the basics for the exam! This video helps you begin that process.
