1. What hospice is and is not. It's about making sure the patient is comfortable, managing symptoms, and that the patient's family is supported and informed.
2. How doctors determine when a patient is eligible for hospice.
3. Services that hospice provides, including a team of medical personnel, chaplain, aide and bereavement counselor.
4. Hospice levels of care include routine home care, respite care, crisis care and general in-patient care.
5. Payments for hospice care: Medicare, Medicaid, other insurance, and indigent care.

The first annual Before I Die Festival Ohio offered upbeat activities to think about, talk about, and do something about our inevitable mortality. Activities included Death Cafe conversations, field trips to cemeteries, funeral homes and crematoria, movies, panel discussions, and a wide range of speakers.
