As many as 33 sixes and 18 boundaries were hit in the first game played in Sharjah between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings - the joint-highest for an IPL game. The small ground and the short boundaries across was replete with runs with 416 runs scored on the day, leaving the upcoming clash between RR and KXIP a potentially high-scoring one.

KL Rahul was asked at the end of the previous game where Chris Gayle was. Punjab may finally give the big man a game sometime soon, after giving Nicholas Pooran a run in the opening two games for little returns. Neesham was brought in for Jordan, but Punjab, by sending in Karun Nair instead of promoting Neesham up the order with only a few overs to go, meant he didn't bat. If Gayle returns, it could also be the ideal counter against the legspinners, who he has a promising record against.
