How To Catch Florida Gar

I hit the Tamiami Trail for some Florida Gar. Conditions were tough and the gar were sparse. We tried fishing with cut bluegill which works great for spotted gar. Unfortunately, I had only one hit and missed the hookset. I microfished some jewel cichlids to use as live bait. I left them in front of the gar's snout with my bail open for a few minutes and got some takes.
