The Salamanders are NOT the Good Guys of 40k

There is a myth that the Salamanders are somehow the "good guys" of Warhammer 40k. That their lore makes them the exception to the rule "there are no good guys in 40k".

This myth is wrong. The Salamanders chapter of space marines is definitely not the good guys. By almost any stretch of the imagination they are pretty evil indeed.

That's not a take on what space marines are. That's cheating, so I strip that out of it. Instead I look at just what the Salamanders say and how they act in their novels in 40k (NOT 30k).

And the conclusion is inescapable. The Salamanders chapter are utterly evil. Even by the standards of most Adeptus Astartes.

As always, this is done with the love of 40k lore and an understanding that the Warhammer 40,000 universe really is satire when you pay any attention at all.
