Arm Therapy for Stage 2 Stroke | Occupational Therapy
In this video, We are going to do exercises when your arm starts to have stiffness after a stroke. At stage 2 of stroke, muscles may begin to stiffen involuntarily and this is called spasticity. The tendons are also tight and movements are difficult specially when fighting against gravity. You may start to feel some movement but not all the way. At this stage, passive range if motion is stil the key.
It is very important to start doing your occupational therapy to regain some of your strength and range of motion. With therapy for CVA, consistency matters.
The exercises included are:
1. Trunk Rotation
2. Shoulder Rotation
3. Gentle Rocking
4. Diagonal Reaching
5. Arm Turning
Please be consistent with your home therapy. And let us all exercise our mind and our body so we get stronger together.
