#2 - PONTE DE SANTA CLARA - The bridge that crosses the Mondego river where you get that perfect postcard shot of the city. Also we point out the colourful Pedro & Ines bridge too.
#3 - RESTAURANTE ITALIA - Coimbra's very popular Italian restaurant hanging over the river Mondego. Our favourite place for lunch and dinner in Coimbra.
#4 - PARQUE MANUEL BRAGA - Beautiful riverside park with tree lined avenues and amazing colourful flowers. Perfect for people watching.
#5 - RUA FERREIRA BORGES & IGREJA DE SANTA CRUZ - Coimbra's historical area and beautiful pedestrian street that leads to the famous Santa Cruz Monestary where the burial remains of the first king of Portugal is kept.
#5.1- SANTA CRUZ CAFE & PORTUGUESE COFFEE - We are coffee lovers and Portugal's coffee does not disappoint. Try out Santa Cruz cafe for a decent cup.
#6 - WALK THE ALCO DE ALMEDINA - Take this cute little steep footpath up through the back streets of Coimbra on your way up to the University. On the way check out Sé Velha Cathedral.
#7 - UNIVERSIDADE DE COIMBRA - The most famous attraction of Coimbra is Europes oldest university. Set high up on a hill overlooking the city and the beautiful river Mondego.
#8 - BOTANICAL GARDENS OF THE UNIVERSITY - The Jardim Botânico da Universidade de Coimbra is one of our favourite places in the whole city. Perfect for picnics and picture taking. Beautiful in any season.
#9 - PASTEL DE NATA FROM THE WORLD NEEDS NATA CAFE - In Coimbra our favourite place to eat the famous Portuguese Egg Tart is The World Needs Nata cafe. Super crispy with a light custard and a dusting of cinnamon. It goes perfect with a black coffee.
#10 - GET LOST IN THE COIMBRA BACK STREETS - Coimbra's historical area is perfect from getting lost in. Discover some beautiful streets and buildings, don't forget to look up!
