Today I want to highlight my friend and fellow musician Gerey Johnson. Gerey played on our new recordings, and truly—this is someone who’s been quietly shaping the sound of modern jazz for a long time. A guitarist with a feel that’s both effortless and deeply expressive.

He’s worked across the spectrum—on stage, in the studio, behind the scenes—bringing that same musicality and taste to everything he touches.

But beyond all the credits, it’s the playing. Smooth, soulful, and full of intention… the kind of sound that just sits exactly where it needs to.

And like all the great ones—he’s the real thing. Generous, grounded, and a total pro.
