Missing Part for an Old Machine - Can I Produce a Realistic Copy?

I'm in the middle of restoring an old Waldown drill press and the knob/hand wheel for securing the handles was missing. It's quite an iconic looking knob so I decided to make one.
This section of footage didn't seem to work within the restoration video so I made it's own video.
