The Stroll w/ The King of The Stroll: Chuck Willis - Betty and Dupree ("Seventeen")

Great news! This video is available with the ORIGINAL kinescope audio and superior quality here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WAL_vqXylE

http://www.therenegaderoadhouse.co/ We streamed southern rock, pop and country 24/7 until 1/1/16, now shuttered because of high royalty rates... Two new videos from "Seventeen"have bee posted, Billie and Lillie - La De Dah at https://youtu.be/9Bja8OjwZpU and a rarity by Buddy Knox - Swingin' Daddy at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHnpT-IZtQo (what's WOI, tv born of the atom? scroll down)

OK, ready or not, here's more strollin' from "Seventeen" (WOI-TV Ames IA 2/1/1958) If near the end, the kids don't seem quite on the beat, don't blame them, blame difficulties adding audio back to this selection. (ISU Special Collections has the entire kinescope posted on YouTube, sans songs for the most part.)

WOI-TV, atomic-powered television? It didn't use nuclear power, at least not at first. But it's been strongly rumored that Iowa State College (now University) got the seed money to build the station by helping to enrich uranium for the Manhattan project during WWII.
