Khet 2.0 - The Lazer Game for your entertainment at home.

To play, players alternate moving their pieces around the board. Some pieces have mirrors and some do not. Bounding the board is a raised frame into which are built two low-power lasers, one for each player. The game pieces include a "pharaoh", obelisks, and pyramids with mirrors. After each move, a player must press the button on his/her laser. The beam bounces from mirror to mirror around the playing field. The challenge is to protect one's own pharaoh while maneuvering to "light up" the opposing player's pharaoh.

Just like its predecessor, Khet 2.0 is a two-person board game that deftly combines the strategy of chess with all the fun of lasers.

The object of the game is to zap your opponent's Pharaoh by bouncing a laser off strategically-placed mirrored pieces. In the previous version the laser was built into the board, but in Khet 2.0 it's generated by a movable Sphinx piece. Not only does this add a whole new way to play the game, it also makes the set slimmer, lighter and more portable than before. Tactical zapping on the move? Ra! If all this is sounding more complicated than the plot of an exhausted TV spin-off series, don't worry! With just a handful of different pieces and moves that can be made, Khet 2.0 is a doddle to pick up and will have you hooked faster than you can say Nefertiti

Does Khet contain actual Lasers?

Yes, the game employs two class II lasers which are lower in power than most laser pointers on the market, which are usually class III. This means that although you still get the neat effect of firing

a laser to bombard your opponent's pieces, you will not get the wow effect of seeing it melt or blow holes through the playing field.

What if my laser beam does not light up or the light is very dim?

Khet's laser beam requires sufficient battery power. Try putting new batteries in the game board. The lasers used in Khet are made to last over 5000 hours of continuous use and are most likely not the cause of your problem.
